About Roots Of Kin
Roots Of Kin is a transformative Enrichment Center dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders through cultural awareness and academic excellence. Our Mission is to provide a safe, supportive environment where youth from all ages can discover their potential, embrace their heritage, and develop the skills needed for lifelong success.
Our comprehensive curriculum celebrates the rich tapestry of African American culture through history, literature, music, and folklore, while fostering an inclusive space that welcomes all families. We believe in empowering every child with the confidence, knowledge, and leadership skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.
Programs
Before School Enrichment
Start the day strong with our morning program featuring breakfast, homework support, and engaging educational activities that prepare students for a successful school day.
After School Leadership
Our afternoon program combines academic support with cultural enrichment activities, including music, dance, art, and leadership development workshops.
Cultural Heritage Events
Immersive experiences in African American history, traditions, and arts, designed to build cultural awareness, pride, and understanding among all participants.
Development
Agricultural Development
Our Agricultural Development program provides scholars with hands-on learning experiences in sustainable farming practices. Through a variety of engaging activities, participants develop an understanding of how food is grown and its impact on health and the environment.
Arts, Historic, and Modern Development
Our Arts, Historic, and Modern Development program is designed to immerse scholars in African American heritage’s rich history and vibrant culture. Through a dynamic and inclusive approach, participants explore African American culture, history, literature, music, and folklore, while also developing an appreciation for the broader historical and contemporary contexts that shape our world today.
Computer Development
Our Computer Education Development program is designed to equip scholars with the essential digital skills needed to succeed in the modern world. By fostering a strong foundation in technology, coding, and digital literacy, we empower the youth in our community to become innovators, problem-solvers, and confident creators in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Gaming Center
Our Gaming Center is designed to provide scholars and community members with an exciting and immersive environment where they can explore the world of gaming. By offering cutting-edge technology such as virtual reality (VR) and next-gen gaming systems, we foster creativity, strategic thinking, and teamwork, helping individuals discover their passion for gaming while developing valuable skills for the future.
